Kings Point Sportsman’s Club – Bylaws (Revised 2/21/2024)
ARTICLE I – THE ORGANIZATION
Section 1 The name of the organization shall be the “Kings Point Sportsman’s Club”.
Section 2 The club records shall be kept at the home address of the Club Secretary.
Section 3 The Club shall be a non-profit organization.
ARTICLE II - MEETINGS
Section 1 The Club shall meet the third Wednesday of the month. A majority of the Board of Directors may call for and hold other meetings.
Section 2 Regular business meetings and the annual meeting shall be conducted in accordance with the generally-accepted rules of parliamentary procedure. The order of business shall include, but is not necessarily limited to:
a. Call to order.
b. Introduction of special guest(s) if applicable.
c. Reading of minutes of previous meeting.
d. Correspondence sent and received, if any.
e. Treasurer’s Report.
f. Standing Committee Reports, if any.
g. Special Committee Reports, if any.
h. Unfinished business.
i. New Business.
j. Adjourn
ARTICLE III BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Section 1: The management of the club shall consist of a Board of seven directors: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and three Board Members at-large.
Section 2 The Board of Directors is empowered to run the club.
Section 3 Any Board Member may preside over all meetings.
Section 4 The Secretary shall handle the minutes of the club meetings and club records.
Section 5 The Treasurer shall handle the finances of the club.
Section 6 The club shall elect Directors for a term of one year.
Section 7 Any club expense incurred by the Directors shall be
reimbursed by the club.
ARTICLE IV – MEMBERSHIP
Section 1 Any person in accord with the club’s purposes, who resides in Kings Point, or is a member of the Sun City Center Community Association, may apply for membership.
Section 2 General Membership Requirements.
All prospective members must satisfy all of the following requirements.
Has completed all documentation as may be required including but not
necessarily limited to:
a. A written application for membership, to include a signed agreement to
comply with all the requirements specified therein.
b. A disclaimer/waiver of liability form.
c. A statement that these by-laws and the club’s general safety rules have been received, are understood, and will be adhered to.
d. Has paid all applicable dues.
e. Member’s names shall be posted on the web site.
f. Committee members shall serve at the pleasure of the Board of Directors.
g. Routine Committee requests shall be submitted in writing to the Board and will be taken up at the next scheduled monthly membership meeting.
Section 3 Any member, who repeatedly or intentionally violates the Club Safety Rules, or procedures, shall be subject to disciplinary actions, up to and including suspension or revocation of club membership. After discussion any suspension or revocation of membership would require a two-thirds majority vote by the members attending the monthly meeting.
Section 4 Membership Dues and Fees.
a. Dues increases proposed by the Board of Directors, shall require two thirds vote by the membership present at a subsequent meeting.
b. Annual dues are payable at any time after they have been set by the membership. Any person who held club membership during the immediately-preceding Administrative Year and who has not paid his or her dues as of the first day of the second month of the current Administrative Year shall be considered a nonmember, but may reinstate their membership at any time during the current Administrative Year by payment of the appropriate dues.
c. Any new member joining after November 1st will be considered as a paid-up member for the following year.

Section 1 At least two-thirds of those attending a meeting must vote in favor to change a By-law.
