Head Boat / Party Boat Trips
(Scroll to the bottom for trips in our area)
A head boat, also known as a party boat, is a large, stable, and comfortable boat that can accommodate many anglers and is often less expensive per person than a charter boat. Head boats are named for the fact that they can accommodate large groups, and each passenger pays a fee to go on the trip. The boats stop and anchor over wreck and rock formations, and everyone fishes at once. Head boats usually fish for species such as Red Snapper, Grouper, Trigger Fish, and Amberjack.
Head boats are a great way for first-timers to try out deep-sea fishing, but there are some potential drawbacks. For example, you will likely be on a boat with a lot of strangers, and you could be stuck for several hours with some unappealing shipmates.
