Rifles Only Fun Shoot Rules & Info
KPSC VP Mike McClintic will hold Rifles only Fun Shoots at the Gun Craft range, approx. every 2 months, Or 6 times per calendar year as scheduling permits. Members notified of upcoming events via E-Mail & announcement at meetings
Rifle Shoots will follow our scheduled Friday AM Shooting Sessions and Weekly Bottle Shoot Competition.
Rifle Shoots will take place on the 50 ft range, same as Bottle Shoot and other fun Shoot Events
NRA B-2 Target will be used for scoring. Cost is one dollar/shooter, 10 round High Total Score wins, ties settled by shoot off. Freestanding Firing Position ONLY.
Equipment requirements: All Range required Safety Equipment and Safety Procedures will be used at all times.
Rifles: Any true rifle, any Caliber (up to .50 Cal) Must fire Rim Fire or Center Fire Cartridges, Utilizing Open sights, Red Dots and Magnifying Scopes allowed, NO Laser sights Allowed
No slings, handles, hand holds, or support of any kind allowed, shooter must have 2 hands on weapon
Firing 10 rounds must be from the standing, unsupported position. No Leaning on the firing line
Procedures: Rifle Shoot participants purchase a Rifles only Target ($1.00) during set up times.
Keep rifles cased until Range remains Hot after Bottle Shoot, move rifles to firing line and un-case
Range will be cleared, while cold, bottle shoot equip removed, target stands with rifle targets set up for Rifle Shooters.
Range goes back HOT all Rifle Shoot participants take 10 shots for score.
Range Cleared, retrieve Rifle scoring targets and add up total scores. Rounds touching a target line are scored at the higher value. Highest total wins the money. Scores verified by designated Judges before a winner declared.
In the event of a scoring tie: While range is still clear, tied participants will place a 2nd target
Range goes back HOT, Tie shooters each fire 10 more rounds for score. Others pack up equipment
Range is cleared, Targets retrieved and scored, if still tied, participants split the Money & Glory
Range goes back HOT for final pack up and removal from firing line. Cased Weapons can be removed at any time.
Winner(s) get the money and their picture taken with the convict badge, and will be shown at the monthly meeting. Congratulations
This Bi-Monthly event is in addition to other monthly Fun Shoot Activities and has become a popular addition to our shooting activities.
